Warm Kids Project is a local, all volunteer non-profit established in 1986. Each year Warm Kids Project provides 1200+ NEW winter coats,1000 boots, hats and gloves to Kalamazoo County schoolchildren in need. Warm Kids serves 45 elementary schools in 8 county school districts. In addition, 7 agencies serving children also receive clothing, such as Head Start, 9th District Court, Kalamazoo Community Mental Health and preschools.
Clothing distribution is site based, so parents who need clothing should contact their Kalamazoo County pre-school or elementary school by October. Please do not contact Warm Kids Project.
We rely on financial donations from the community and with this money we purchase good quality clothing at deep discounts from local merchants. You can donate on line at www.warmkids.org or by mailing to the address listed. We appreciate financial contributions from businesses, places of worship, service organizations and individuals. Visit our website at www.warmkids.org to see updated financial and community impact statements.
Warm Kids Project has been providing new winter clothing to children in need each year for 30+ years! Warm clothing is a necessity that can improve a child's health, self- esteem and increase their attendance in school. I wish you could see the smiles of happiness as a child hugs their new coat! Contact Warm Kids if you would like a speaker to visit your group and explain the Warm Kids Project, or if you would like to volunteer is some capacity. Thank you for your interest.
