Kalamazoo Humane Society

The KHS has been active in the Kalamazoo area for over 100 years. We strive to help end the suffering of animals through our low cost spay/neuter program, pet food bank, and support of other animal welfare organizations in the area.

The Kalamazoo Humane Society was founded in 1897 and has served the community in the area of animal welfare and protection. KHS is a leader in animal cruelty prevention, pet population control and humane education.

As a non-sheltering facility, KHS works with the Kalamazoo County Animal Services & Enforcement Department to address the needs of stray and homeless animals, to eliminate animal suffering and to provide pet adoption counseling to citizens interested in adopting a pet.
