Asylum Lake Preservation Association

As a volunteer organization, ALPA is dedicated to assuring the Asylum Lake Preserve remains a natural open space, available for use by the community. The Preserve is owned and managed by WMU. ALPA represents the community voice on issues regarding the Preserve and partners with WMU in its efforts to maintain the quality of the plant and animal life in the preserve. ALPA was started in 1990, when there was a threat that the area would be developed and this great public asset would be lost. This property is not a Preserve by accident, many people have worked long and hard to keep it this way.
