We are a congenial society of Sons, Daughters, and Friends of Norway celebrating the culture and heritage of Norway.
Annual Dues include local lodge membership, national Sons of Norway membership, and subscription to the monthly Viking magazine. Discount membership rates are given to spouse and children living at home. Askeladden Lodge meets September - May for a cultural program, potluck dinner and sometimes a brief business meeting.
We meet the 2nd Sunday at 2 p.m. September - April and the 3rd Sunday in May (to avoid Mother's Day) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo. Rare location/date changes are announced in the monthly Lodge newsletter and/or by Facebook event.
Special events are usually planned for June - August at various sites. "Subscribe" to the Events on our Facebook page to get automatic notification of and detailed information about all our events.
The college-age children and grandchildren of Lodge members in good standing are eligible to compete for college scholarships. Norwegian Heritage Camp scholarships are given to younger members.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(8) fraternal organization that regularly contributes to various Kalamazoo area charities with monetary and other donations.
Please attend one of our events and see who we are and what we are all about! Visit and "Like" our Facebook page.
